Cheers To Life!

Less than 3 weeks to my birthday and for anyone who knows me well, knows I love to celebrate my birthday because I love to celebrate life!

Looking back at the past 12 months and thinking… How much has changed and maybe how much hasn’t.

One thing you have to do, no matter how hard it may seem, is to follow your heart. Follow it for it is the only thing that truly knows the truth and inspires you.

Your brain, so technical! Let’s not even talk about it.

I’ve been thinking about the friendships I’ve made in the last year, decisions, opportunities, goals I created, courses I took on, commitments I made. Some still exist, some don’t.

I know, I always talk about change, but I can’t help it because it’s literally the ONE THING THAT IS CONSTANT.

People, once in a while, will come up to you and say, you’ve changed!

Isn’t it so true that circumstances change the way you behave?

I recently asked a question on Facebook, that, which year of your life do you believe was the best year of your life?

Got the perfect answer from a dear friend, who said – everyday should be the best day of your life. Let go of the past and live in the present, for this, this is all you have right here, right now.

So sure, I will look back at the year anyway and wonder – what’s changed? what have I achieved? What have I lost? What’s missing? Not to dwell on the past, but to see where have I improved myself and what still needs some work.

Big things have happened to me in the last 12 months. I was able to be part of a mega festival that I had dreamt of for years; I met people I never thought I would ever meet; sky dived; camped with great friends; met amazing new people; was part of the Earthdance committee; spoke to Jay Sean (lol); was part of a flash mob; went white water rafting; had a magical NYE; kissed a giraffe for the first time; resigned from Radio Africa; went to Diani after 2 years!; snorkeled; first ever holi festival; finally left Kenya and went to South Africa for 2 and a half weeks; rediscovered myself; started my own business. The list is endless.

It’s been an incredible year I must say. Tough times, tears, loads of fun, GREAT times and I am so grateful and thankful for everything that’s come my way and left too. Everything has been a great lesson that can only strengthen me and make me understand this world more.

I am truly blessed to be here and alive and look forward to yet another year on this planet and hope that I can make it a better place for myself and those around me.

Cheers to life! 🙂
