Day 9 – #NaBloPoMo

A Tweep, Amina, yesterday suggested that I should write about why I blog and not write in a private diary.

Good one.

If you think about it, blogging can get a little personal. Well not a little, but majority of the time.

I do this one post every year about my entire year. Month by month. And I got asked “why would you share so much of your personal stuff with the world openly?

And that’s when it struck. Even though, I write for myself, and post it on my blog, it never occurred to me that people actually DO read my blog.

I think I started blogging towards the end of 2009 or 2010. I honestly don’t even know. But I remember there was an incident that occurred in my estate and I had to share the story. Even though I tweeted about it, writing the whole event felt so much easier with no limit of space and characters.

I don’t take blogging seriously. If you check my archives it’s once a month or once every few months.

But when I do post something, it’s probably when I’ve been moved or touched by something or someone that inspires me to write.

A WordPress e-mail dropped in my mail about NaBloPoMo and it actually did catch my attention. I thought why not? Totally up for this challenge. So far, the writing’s been alright, but time’s been the main challenge. However, I’m not writing to gain something out of this.

I can honestly say that I write to express myself. It’s a platform for me to speak my mind, say what I want to say and not give two cents about it. My point gets across in an indirect manner to some and it works for me.

I’m taking part in the National Blog Posting Month! I’ve committed to posting something everyday till the 30th of November! Hope you enjoy the absolute random reads and would love feedback too! Feel free to drop a comment at the bottom.
